SharePoint 2010 features Groove client (Network World)

Microsoft is using Groove technology, which it acquired four years ago when Ray Ozzie joined the company, to create an offline client for SharePoint Server 2010 that can also read and edit data from third-party line-of-business applications. [News Source]
